![]() ![]() One of the trickiest parts of the design was keeping the home grounded to its surroundings, but with modern touches to spice it up. Where for myself, I knew I wanted the white kitchen and focused on the smaller details, like the millwork and fun designs throughout. My husband had great vision of the grand entrance, with the curved staircase and open concept living. Our home is a mix of wants from my husband and myself. ![]() Once construction of the home started, we finally moved in after 15 months (with one long month at the end of trailer living). Being it was on 10 acres of mainly wheat, but forest land we had to have it logged, and much ground work before we could begin. The first step to our home was the land development. We did not use an architect for our design, and find it to be a unique, one of a kind home that we are proud to say we created. Slowly but surely we were able to piece it together just how we wanted, and off we went. Our home was built little by little every night, at the kitchen table, on scratch paper. With so many desires in mind for our home, we had quite the time finding the perfect floor plan, so knew we must go custom, and design it ourselves. We planned this home out for around 3 years while we saved to build.
